Reinhard Eugen Tristan Heydrich, 1904-1942.  Rare Document Signed, Heydrich, one page, 8¼" x 11¾", on typewritten letterhead of Der Reichsführer SS / Der Chef des Sicherheitshauptamtes, Berlin, July 13, 1937. In German, with translation.

The brutal Heydrich, who headed the Gestapo, was second in importance only to Heinrich Himmler in the Nazi Protective Squadron, the Schutzstaffel or SS, and was a principal architect of the Nazis' plan to exterminate the Jews. Because of his early assassination at age 38, his autographic material is rare, and it is becoming much more difficult to find.  Those who seek Heydrich material for World War II collections should be careful not to let items pass by.

In this document, Heydrich conveys Himmler's order reassigning SS personnel.  It mentions both the SS and the Security Service, the Sicherheitsdienst or SD.  This is the copy distributed to the Chief of the Race- and Housing Settlement Headquarters, as evidenced by the annotation and the receipt stamp of the Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt SS.

This document is in very fine condition.  Heydrich has signed in green ink.  There are two file holes in the left margin and slight wrinkling in the lower right corner.  The receipt stamp of the Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt SS, showing receipt on May 15, 1937, affects part of the text.

We reject Nazism and all that it represented.  We nevertheless offer this document because of its rarity and because Nazism, although despised, played a large role in the history of the 20th Century.

Unframed.
